It was a great article which provided overall insight to emotion in sport and was very applicable for this case study. Lauer's three R's to help control the tennis player's emotion is definitely a positive approach. It is good to work with having your athlete recognize the point in time when their emotions get out of control. You mention physical symptoms he may experience, and I thought that was a great example. The switch idea of helping the athlete let go of anxiety or anger is a great idea. What is a simple word that you think he would use to switch off anxiety or loss of emotional control? I think it may take longer to get this athlete to cope with emotion and stress compared to an older, more mature and experienced tennis player.
